VTech in collaboration with Mochilla and media sponsor Wax Poetics are very happy to announce the following screening dates for the Timeless 3 DVD Set.

These Screenings of Timeless feature the works of J Dilla (Suite for Ma Dukes), Mulatu Astatke, and Arthur Verocai. Instead of showing all three films back to back or indeed making a screener edit of all three films, we will be doing something historic. At certain screenings J.Rocc, of the World Famous Beat Junkies and also maybe the greatest DJ on the planet right now, will be DJing all three films, using the latest Serato technology. J.Rocc will be manipulating the films using vinyl on turntables to control the hi-res film files, creating an amazing megamix of all three films. (see the sneak peek here) This, as far as we know, has never been done to premiere a film or indeed a series of films ever.

The screenings will be followed by Q&A w/ B+, Eric Coleman and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson,
with after-party to follow, J.Rocc as the main guest DJ.

***We will be giving away one VTech IS9181 at each screening!!!

Follow us on Twitter: VTechMusic, Mochilla and Wax Poetics to find out how you can win one of these amazing music players.

Serato and Stones Throw have teamed with the J Dilla Estate for the official J Dilla Serato release, Donut Shop. This is 2 discs with six J Dilla tracks, 2 sides with Serato Control Tone (for use with Serato Scratch Live DJ software), and 2 donut slipmats in a package designed by Studio No.1. This will be released May 10th (the day after Mother's day--what's up Ma Dukes?). Pre-order is available now.

The J Dilla tracks consist of three previously unreleased instrumentals selected by J.Rocc from the Dilla archives – “Safety Dance”, “Sycamore”, “Bars & Twists” – and three unreleased instrumental versions of Dilla's production for Mos Def, Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes, each remastered by Elysian Masters who mixed and mastered J Dilla's Donuts, The Shining and Ruff Draft albums.

This is an officially licensed release of Pay Jay Productions, aka the J Dilla Estate, with Stones Throw and Serato.

EMERGENCE is presenting two groundbreaking showcases at the 2010 South By Southwest (SXSW) music festival in Austin: DXSW (Detroit Hip-Hop showcase) and The Revival: SXSW (Women in Hip-Hop showcase). Curated by Invincible, who will perform at both events, these showcases aim to build unity and a stronger spirit of cooperation within the music movements in which EMERGENCE is rooted. These showcases are generously sponsored by SplinkMe.com, marking the launch of this innovative company and website which aims to link small businesses with musicians and other influencers towards successful sponsorships.

DXSW features a dozen of Detroit Hip-Hop's finest, headlined by the legendary Slum Village, in their first ever SXSW appearance. Black Milk will also be performing along with live musicians AB and Daru. Detroit is known internationally for its unique musical innovations, most recently spread by super-producer and artist Jay Dilla, who joined the ancestors nearly 5 years ago. Dilla's younger brother Illa J will be hosting the event along with Marv Won, with musical interludes provided by DJs/Producers House Shoes and 14KT.

The Revival: SXSW will highlight a wide spectrum of regions and styles throughout the women in Hip-Hop movement, and is headlined by veteran Philadelphia emcee Bahamadia making her SXSW premiere. Other performers featured include Tiye Phoenix, Chicago's own Psalm One, Toronto emcee Eternia, as well as Diamond, best known for her work with Crime Mob. The event will be filmed for a follow-up short documentary in EMERGENCE's The Revival series, which gives viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the growing Women in Hip-Hop movement. The first documentary in The Revival series can be viewed here, with follow-up interviews with the featured artists here.

Event dates, set times and location after the jump..
